Importance of Volunteer Hours
Have you ever considered the importance of tracking the number of volunteer hours contributed by your FFA Alumni and Supporters group? The number of hours that our local and state members contribute is significant! The State Council has set a goal to track our hours.
What is the importance of tracking our hours? This information is significant when it comes to sharing our value with local school boards to state government leaders. Each non-profit volunteer hour has a value of $34.79.
So, how do we easily and efficiently track our local chapter hours? The process is incredibly easy!
1. A designated chapter leader will be responsible to submit the volunteer hours.
2. Go to ffa.org
3. Select Alumni Leader from the pulldown menu
4. Click on Chapter/State Profile Search
5. Log in with your username and password
6. Type in Chapter Name, then search
7. On the left-hand side, click on Volunteer Activities
8. Add your Volunteer Activity Type, Activity Name, Description, Date, # of Volunteers, and number of hours, then click on add.
Completing this process takes literally a couple of minutes, but the potential value is immeasurable!
